Santa Fe

Goober here!

So me and Stoof are uber slackers. I apologize. I also suck at taking pictures of the things I do. My little, her boyfriend and mine (they're roomies) are trying to cook more and be healthier. Aka I cook everyone dinner. I actually love it. On Monday night I made a delicious meal of spicy tilapia (squirt the fish with lemon, rub on some low fat margarine, coat it in creole and blackening seasoning and then some parm cheese and bake for 20-25 on 350) some dirty rice, salad and cream of asparagus soup from Skinnytaste.com. It came out really well! I have to admit I used an extra half tablespoon of sour cream and butter while making it and it was absolutely delish for the low amount of calories. Try it out!

Tomorrow for Jerzday, we are making family dinner again. Last week I made my moms meat sauce recipe (I took a few pics and I will be making a post soon). Gotta love being Italian. This Thursday we're deviating from the pasta and making tacos because that just obviously makes sense. We're going to do pulled chicken and ground turkey meat. I can't wait. I really hope they turn out as good as the tacos from here. I will rave about Santa Fe Mexican grill allll day long. I live above it so I am a very frequent customer. They have the hands down best margaritas in Newark. And thanks to my mama I got to try the one in Wilmington via Groupon. They are just great restaurants if you love Mexican food like I do. So if you are ever in Delaware definitely check it out. I'm really really wishing they delivered and would be so kind as to bring me a golden chimichanga right now. mmm can't wait for taco night!

have a great day! Adios!

ps. check out my friend's blog the style tab  she's an awesome fashionista and puts together the cutest outfits! She recently featured me and some of my sistas in a post about how to wear your greek letters a little differently for any sorority ladies out there. Get inspired!

Color fade nails

As Goober's post mentioned, we love nail polish! I personally have so many colors I never have to look far for a color that fits my outfit or mood......

.

My abundant collection of shades made it easy to try a new and easy nail trend. It's called fading, 3 colors in a range of light, medium and dark shades. I picked blue. I worked with my stash and came up with 3 blues I thought would work well together. You take the darkest color and paint your pinky finger.
(unfortunately there was no label on the bottle)

Next, the medium color on your ring and middle fingers.

(This is Sephora brand mini polish in “Myrtille”)

The last two fingers get the lightest shade.
Essie “lapix of luxury”

Finally finish with your top coat of choice and there it is, a trendy nail look that took no extra effort or time.

So if you have a plethora of polish like me, do some digging and grab some colors. Purples would look fab too....hmmm, might be my next attempt ;)  I def love this trend, plus it's a way to have lots of cool colors that might be a lil overboard on their own in some situations.  Even if you only have red and dark and light shades of pink, anyone can try this! Just have fun with it and make your self smile!  We'd love to hear from you on what you think about this trend, my attempt or what your new fave nail trend is!

The great thing about nail color is it's gone with some remover and a swipe of a cotton ball!

Nail Art

Anyone who knows us is well aware that conventional nail colors just aren't our style. We love to play with fun new colors, new designs and are currently obsessed with incorporating glitter to our fingers. Here are a few pics of some looks we love!

We love love love how she plays with sparkles and asymmetry to spice up a potentially boring black polish.

This kind of block patterning is everywhere right now! It looks great on your nails too and these colors are perfectly combined.

The crackle coat isn't the newest trend, but we still love the textured look it gives your nails!

This is my (Goobers') personal fav. I'm a major fan of soft, girly, vintage inspired looks so I obvs. love this!

Well that's all for now! Happy nail arting!!
